Todd Parr takes an abstract concept, peace, and makes it concrete is a most meaningful, colorful way. Each page or double-page spread contains one line of handwritten text with accompanying artwork. "Peace is everyone having a home," for example, is illustrated with a variety of homes, from a tree to a circus tent to a fish bowl to an apartment building.

Parr's books are loaded with child appeal, and this one is no exception. His characteristic large, boldly colored drawings are cherry and utterly charming. Each illustration does a superb job of expanding the sentiments expressed in the text.

This is one book that, now more than ever, deserves a place on your bookshelf. A joyful celebration of peace.

Highly recommended. District-wide purchase strongly encouraged.
